Chapter 620: Polite Violence Is Still Violence
Chapter 620: Polite Violence Is Still Violence
Inside the private viewing room, silence filled the air.
The Ignis elder stared at the arena screen, his calm expression finally frozen.
Kaelvar’s massive flame dragon body was lying against the broken arena floor, while Dahlia stood on top of his head with lightning and wind swirling around her body.
Garion slowly leaned back in his seat.
Then a wide grin spread across his face.
"Ohhh..."
He glanced toward the Ignis elder with an innocent smile. "That was a pretty good dragon inheritance."
The elder’s eyebrow twitched slightly.
Alira quietly looked away, already sensing where this was going.
Garion continued calmly, as if he were only giving polite commentary. "Strong flames, strong body, great pressure, and a very impressive dragon form."
He nodded several times. "Really, really impressive."
The Ignis elder remained silent.
Garion’s grin widened just a little. "But..."
He pointed toward Dahlia on the screen. "It looks like my wild lower-world dragon disciple still managed to keep up somehow."
The word "somehow" was gentle.
The elder’s expression darkened slightly.
Garion placed a hand on his chest dramatically. "Honestly, I’m relieved. For a moment there, I thought the difference between proper dragon inheritance and gym training would be too big."
Alira’s mouth twitched.
That was not relief.
That was mockery dressed as humility.
Garion sighed lightly, then added with a thoughtful tone, "But I guess training, hard work, and a little bit of disaster can still compete with ancient lineage after all."
The Ignis elder slowly turned his gaze toward Garion. "Are you mocking my Ignis Family?"
Garion blinked with a harmless expression. "Mocking? Of course not."
He smiled brightly. "I’m praising Kaelvar. He’s strong enough to make Dahlia use a new move."
Then his eyes returned to the arena screen. "That alone is already impressive."
The elder’s face stiffened.
Somehow, that sounded even worse.
Garion leaned forward, clasping his hands together as Dahlia’s storm continued roaring on the screen. "Still..."
His grin became sharper. "I think tomorrow, many people will remember one thing."
The elder narrowed his eyes.
Garion looked directly at him and smiled. "God Gym doesn’t need to borrow a dragon family’s name to raise a dragon."
The Ignis elder’s frown deepened.
For a moment, the air inside the private viewing room became heavy.
His golden eyes stayed on Garion, and the faint pressure of a true dragon bloodline slowly spread from his body.
Alira’s expression changed slightly.
Even though the elder did not attack, that pressure was enough to make the room feel like it had been thrown into a furnace.
But Garion only sat there with the same relaxed grin.
The elder stared at him for several seconds before slowly withdrawing his aura.
"Sir Garion," the elder said coldly, "confidence is good."
His eyes shifted toward the screen, where Dahlia still stood proudly over Kaelvar’s massive dragon body. "But arrogance can invite trouble."
Garion smiled. "True."
The elder looked back at him.
Garion nodded seriously, as if he were giving honest advice. "That’s why I always tell my disciples to train hard. If trouble comes, at least they can punch it properly."
Alira closed her eyes for a second.
The elder’s expression became even colder.
He no longer continued the conversation.
With one final glance at the arena, he turned around and walked toward the door. "I will take my leave."
Alira gave a polite nod. "Elder."
Garion raised one hand lazily. "Thanks for inviting us. Nice room, by the way."
The elder paused for half a breath.
Then he left without answering.
The door closed behind him.
Click.
Silence filled the room.
Then...
"Hahahahaha!"
Garion finally burst out laughing.
He leaned back in his chair, one hand on his stomach, laughing like he had just watched the funniest show in the world.
Alira sighed deeply. "Garion..."
He wiped the corner of his eye. "What?"
Alira narrowed her eyes a bit. "You do realize that was an elder from the Ignis Family, right?"
Garion grinned. "Yeah."
Alira frowned. "And you still decided to provoke him."
"Indirectly," Garion corrected proudly.
Alira stared at him.
Garion raised a finger. "Very politely."
Alira finally sighed. "That makes it worse."
Garion laughed again and looked back at the arena screen.
Dahlia was still standing there, surrounded by thunder and wind, while the entire arena slowly recovered from the shock.
His grin softened slightly. "Come on, Alira."
His eyes stayed on his disciple. "How could I not brag a little?"
Alira followed his gaze to Dahlia.
For a moment, she didn’t answer.
Then she sighed again, though this time it carried a faint smile. "I suppose... your disciple did earn it."
Garion’s grin returned immediately. "Exactly."
He leaned forward, eyes shining. "That’s God Gym’s first disciple."
---
Back in the arena, the referee finally recovered from the shock.
For a few seconds, even he had forgotten to move.
Kaelvar’s massive flame dragon body lay against the shattered ground, his flames flickering weakly around his scales.
His golden eyes were still open, but his body no longer had the strength to rise.
Dahlia stood on his head, breathing heavily.
Thunder wrapped around her arms.
The thunder dragon above her slowly faded into countless black-blue sparks, scattering through the air like falling stars.
The referee looked at Kaelvar. "Kaelvar Ignis..."
He waited for a response.
Kaelvar tried to move one claw.
CRACK.
The broken arena floor shifted slightly, but his huge body failed to rise.
A low growl escaped his throat, filled with anger and unwillingness.
But even he knew it that he had lost.
The referee raised one hand.
The entire arena became silent.
Then his voice exploded through the formation speakers.
"Kaelvar Ignis is unable to continue!"
The giant screens flashed brightly.
[Winner]
[Dahlia Draconia]
[Representative: God Gym]
For one heartbeat, the arena stayed completely frozen.
Then...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The crowd erupted.
Screams, cheers, and shocked cries blasted through the tournament site like a tidal wave.
"Dahlia won!"
"God Gym won the final!"
"She defeated the Ignis Family’s flame dragon!"
"A disaster dragon beat a true flame dragon!"
Above the arena, fireworks of cosmic energy exploded across the sky.
The announcer’s voice trembled with excitement.
"Unbelievable! Absolutely unbelievable!"
"Dahlia Draconia, the mysterious representative of God Gym, has defeated Kaelvar Ignis and become the champion of this month’s Newbie Tournament!"
Dahlia slowly stepped off Kaelvar’s head and landed on the broken ground.
She raised one fist toward the sky.
Thunder answered her.
RUMBLE!!!
The crowd screamed even louder.
