Sumatra's Greatest Fan

Chapter 199: Sumatra’s Latest Three Eras

Chapter 199: Sumatra’s Latest Three Eras

Due to the manner in which alcohol interacted with blood, it caused Prana to turn sluggish. That wasn’t all. The natural capabilities of Prana, in which it tried to always maintain the cultivator’s body, mind, and soul in an optimal state, gets pushed out of whack.

The mind grows groggy, the body grows weary, and the soul turns heavy. It all stems from the fact alcohol can worsen Prana’s beneficial properties to a destructive extent.

Every Pranic Beast and Free Human, instinctively, perceive the negative effects of alcohol. And hence, they will promptly eject out the contents even if by mistake they were to drink it.

However, when the Varahan Empire was just founded, and its growth continued to accelerate at breakneck speeds, two individuals infiltrated the Empire in an effort to halt its growth as much as was possible.

The first individual was Inala, who was the mastermind between the Varahan Empire’s civil war, having caused an unbridgeable wedge to form between the Wean Clan and the Free Humans of the Varahan Empire.

The second individual was Virala, who made the people of the Varahan Empire addicted to alcohol, to such an alarming extent, even the Empire’s explosive growth had stagnated. To date, no matter how tight both the Wean Clan and the Varahan Empire were in order to get rid of all alcohol breweries, plenty more popped right back up.

After all, Virala had created and propagated the means to create alcohol from commonly used fruits and vegetables on a day to day basis. And as for the brewery? One person with a few household utensils could manage.

Both the Wean Clansmen and Free Humans of the Varahan Empire secretly held drinking parties, just to numb their nerves from the never ending civil war.

The ease of access, ease of refining, and ease of learning in terms of refining alcohol was why alcohol circulation could never be mitigated in both territories, despite best efforts from the upper echelons.

There were even those from the upper echelons of both sides who secretly consumed alcohol in small amounts, enough to make a recovery from, and still get the kick.

The actions of these two individuals had pretty much halted the Varahan Empire’s unstoppable growth. Had its growth proceeded as is, Sumatra Continent would have been dominated by the Empyrean Boar race in a matter of eras.

The recent eras, where Sumatra’s development accelerated, were three in total.

The second last era was the Era of the Mystic Tentacle–Renduldu!

This era caused one of the worst destruction across Sumatra, due to the Mudropper Invasion, as Mudroppers were a Pranic Beast race capable of wielding the power of the Sandy-Grey Void.

Hence, everywhere they passed resulted in the region’s destruction. This era was extremely pivotal, for it led to the birth of Sumatra’s two Deities–The Empyrean Tusk and Empyrean Snappers.

Immediately upon the end of Renduldu’s era, the next era started. An era was named after the pinnacle existence around whom, the world revolved.

Since Sumatra Continent’s conception, every era was named after its Blessed Race–the Mystic Empyrean Tentacle.

And in years where there was no Mystic Empyrean Tentacle, it was counted as an unnotable gap between two eras.

This long line of eras being named after the Mystic Empyrean Tentacles got broken in the second last era–the Era of the Empyrean Boar King, Brangara.

As the sole survivor of his race, Brangara relentlessly hunted the Mammoth Clan. He was uncontested in strength. And in an effort to resist him, the Mammoth Clan’s wisest Deity spawned seven children.

They were called the Mystic Seven.

The battle between the Mystic Seven and Brangara caused numerous changes to Sumatra Continent. And during the course of the fight, Brangara managed to evolve upon successfully creating the Wean Clan, which was how he became the Celestial Boar.

The act of him becoming the Celestial Boar was what led to the present era’s Continental Invasion.

In their war, the Mystic Seven achieved a pyrrhic victory. That led to a change in era, as Brangara was no longer the centre of the world.

And the existence who replaced Brangara and kickstarted a new era was one of the Mystic Seven, the individual responsible for killing Brangara’s wife, the first Varahan Empress–Yarsha Zahara.

Era of the Mystic Empyrean Tentacle–Orakha!

Upon gaining the power of the Blessed Race, Orakha started a new era, mere hours before the start of Torq’s regression.

Era of the Mystic Empyrean Tentacle–Year 10!

Eyeing the bottle of alcohol in NelTara’s possession, Torq couldn’t help but gasp in shock, "Are you mad or what?"

"Drinking it is suicide!"

"I know," NelTara rolled her eyes, "Aren’t you curious about why so many Clansmen sneakily drink it?"

"Not in the least," Torq snorted.

"I figured," NelTara grabbed two cups and poured the drink within it and placed it on the table before Torq, "Drink it."

"Told you, I’m not drinking alcohol..." Torq didn’t even manage to finish his sentence when a faint scent wafted into his nostrils.

Immediately, he felt slightly weakheaded, feeling his Prana circulation grow sluggish in response. However, strangely enough, he noticed his pellet whirring smoother now, able to absorb his plaguing influence better.

His mind gained greater clarity of thought, causing him to blurt aloud, "What’s...happening?"

"Drinking alcohol is suicide anywhere else," NelTara grinned, "But here, it has as much potency as a tenth of the Influence Easing Elixir."

’We’re in the Empyrean Tusk’s liver!’ Torq understood that under the biome’s environment, drinking the alcohol allowed him to actually shed a portion of his plaguing influence. But immediately after, he wondered, "Won’t this affect the Empyrean Tusk?"

"You can pour the entirety of the alcohol stock from both the Wean Clan and the Varahan Empire, and the Empyrean Tusk would still not be affected." NelTara laughed casually, and upon seeing Torq’s doubt, she stated as if a matter of fact, "I personally confirmed this from the Ancestor himself."

"...Are you for real?" Torq was stunned, having never expected NelTara to approach the Celestial Boar for something so mundane, when merely getting an audience was almost impossible.

"Pinch my cheeks, and you’ll know," NelTara grabbed Torq’s hand and placed it on her cheek, "This utterly gorgeous woman before you is indeed real."

"You’re not dreaming." And then, she blinked her eyelids cutely.

"I probably am prettier..." Torq said and found himself kicked out of the house instantly after.

"Dunce!" Came a shout as the doors closed shut to NelTara’s tower.

"Ah..." Only a second later did Torq smile wryly, ’Did I go overboard with my teasing?’

A second later, he arrived at the answer, ’Obviously not.’

"Accept the truth," He shouted, "This handsome hunk is indeed real."

"You’re not dreaming."
