Chapter 1609: Taylor’s Heart Turns Completely Cold

Ian Shelby didn’t object throughout, nor did he make any requests, as if Catherine had gained the upper hand, and Catherine’s proud glance occasionally swept over him.But Ian didn’t care at all, remaining calm and composed.

As the dinner was coming to an end, after bidding farewell to Justin Kingston, Catherine and Eden escorted the King back to the palace.

Jocelyn followed Justin Kingston out, with his construction team trailing behind. With so many people watching, there was no contact between them and Ian, as if everyone was putting on a good act.

Taylor walked alongside Jocelyn, still chatting with her, "Jocelyn, I didn’t expect you to speak Raban?" His tone was a mix of surprise and praise.

"I prefer niche languages. I’m not very good at English or French, just know a little bit." The girl politely replied to him.

Everyone headed towards the palace where Justin Kingston would stay tonight. In the moonlight, the scenery along the way was beautiful, and the grandeur and majesty of the palace were simply breathtaking.

"Jocelyn, how old are you?" Taylor found a new topic, his mood cheerful today.

Jocelyn Morgan answered him politely once again, "24."

"Are you used to the food in the royal palace? Do you usually prefer light food or...?" Taylor planned to arrange breakfast for her tomorrow, based on her preferences, as she would be staying here for some time.

Jocelyn could feel his overly warm demeanor, glanced at him with a smile, and saw the intensity in his eyes.

As a man, Justin Kingston immediately saw through Taylor’s thoughts.

So, Justin spoke gently, "Jocelyn, your boyfriend’s birthday is next Wednesday, right?"

Jocelyn turned to look at Justin and heard him say, "Now that you’ve taken up this translation job, you won’t be able to go back and celebrate it with him."

Jocelyn was smart and instantly understood his message; this was deliberately revealing to Taylor, telling him he had no chance.

"Yes." Jocelyn smiled, saying a bit regretfully, "I do miss him. It’s the first time I’ll be away from him for so long."

Taylor felt downhearted...

Jocelyn’s bell-like voice still lingered in his ears as she said, "But I’m also honored to stay by the King’s side as a translator and learn a lot."

"Not bad," Justin praised her, "being able to distinguish between career and love."

Taylor was depressed. He turned his gaze, "Jocelyn, you have a boyfriend?" There was a hint of disappointment in his tone.

"Yes." Jocelyn Morgan also turned to look at him, smiling as she answered, "We’ve been together since college, and we’re high school classmates. We are each other’s first love, and we’re planning to get married after graduation."

It seems that their relationship is particularly stable, which left Taylor’s heart completely cold!

Finally meeting a girl he felt something for, yet she was already taken!

This feeling is really quite lousy.

Justin said, "The wedding must be left to your brother to plan, to give you the most special grand wedding."

"Thank you, brother!" Jocelyn Morgan also more firmly remembered her identity here and must not address him as CEO Kingston and risk exposing herself.

Soon, they arrived at a crossroads.

Justin stopped to say goodbye to Taylor, after all, he was the prince, and bid him goodnight.

Taylor also stopped, "Goodnight, if you need anything, just tell the servants." His mood was a bit complicated.

"Okay."

Then everyone turned and walked toward their respective residences.

At night, back in his own palace, Ian Shelby told the servant he was going to rest and then closed the door.

He held a tray and scissors as he approached pots of herbal medicine, clipping some stems from one, a few leaves from another...
