Chapter 19 Higher Beings, These Words Are Only Spoken to You
Chapter 19 Higher Beings, These Words Are Only Spoken to You
Andrea 2 propped herself up and stood up to look around.
It is a room that Terra dug out of the wall at the entrance of the ruins cave.
There were no windows, only a few torches illuminating the room, making it impossible to tell whether it was day or night.
The three people around seemed a little dazed about the current situation, but the atmosphere was warm and cozy under the orange light. The three chatted casually, with Ragon and Mana occasionally punching each other.
Andrea 2 looked at this scene, her mind filled with many thoughts.
What about Terra?
There was something she absolutely had to ask Terra.
She ran outside and saw Terra chopping down a tree. She went straight up to her and said, "Terra, isn't this the first time I've died? When I was at Terra's house, were you the one who killed me once? I thought it was a dream, which explains why I had such bad memories back then."
Terra: "I did kill you with sand once, otherwise I wouldn't know if I was in softcore mode."
"Is that necessary?"
"necessary."
"Understood." Andrea 2 nodded. "Is this resurrection unlimited? Is there any cost?"
"Don't NPCs have unlimited lives?"
So, there's no cost involved? Andrea2 thinks it probably isn't, but since Terra doesn't want to talk about it, let's just leave it at that and investigate later.
Andrea 2 greets Terra with elven courtesy and thanks her.
"Why did the mentor mother say that?"
"Call my name outside~" Andrea 2 sighed and then became serious. "Knowing that I can be resurrected, I feel a little more confident now. My mother and I made a promise that we must live a complete life and return with the lost artifacts. If it weren't for Terra, I'm afraid I would have died long ago."
This means I owe Terra another favor.

After Terra gathered enough wood, the five of them re-explored the corridor, this time with Terra leading the way.
After Andrea 2 said that the corridor was a dead end, Terra manually dug a new path next to the corridor to go around it.
Along the way, they encountered almost no difficulties. Although they would still encounter skeletons popping out from behind them, Terra blocked them with blocks.
After walking along the corridor to the end, Terra discovered that behind the dead end the guide had mentioned, there was a large, semi-natural cave.
Inside the cave was a group of goblins and several adventurers. The female adventurers, or rather, the men, were all kneeling in front of a smooth stone wall.
A goblin held a book in one hand and a stick in the other, pointing at things on the wall and occasionally hitting them.
Balin said to Ragon, "Your intelligence is definitely flawed. The so-called treasure? I only saw a goblin's lair."
The goblin who was "instructing" the adventurers by the wall heard the beeping sound, glanced towards the source of the sound, and saw a group of adventurers digging up from underground. He snapped his book shut and adjusted his monocle.
"Oh my, isn't this that blocky guy? We meet again after only a few days!" the monocle-eyed goblin exclaimed in feigned surprise. The surrounding goblins all grabbed their weapons and surrounded him.
Terra looked at the anthropomorphic goblin enemy, a question mark appearing above her head: "Who is this?"
I asked the director, but he didn't know either.
"You killed Dean, and you've already forgotten?"
Andrea 2 then remembered that it was the guy who had kidnapped her and called her a low elf. It seemed this was one of the goblins that had escaped last time.
She drew her bow and nocked an arrow, but Balin and Ragon didn't waste any words and charged straight at the goblin holding some kind of book.
On the other side, Terra glanced at the goblins: warriors, archers, and mages.
When he moved the cursor over them, he noticed that the goblins' health hadn't increased; it was still 40, with a few at 60. Overall, it didn't seem like their health had increased because of the multiplayer mode, and the AI was also a bit smarter.
Perhaps it's because the new version was just updated and only a portion of it has been optimized? Terra thinks it's necessary to study this mechanism later.
However, since these goblins are quite ordinary.
Terra knew she was about to go on a killing spree.
Terra nimbly leaped across the rocky ground, and whenever a goblin archer aimed, he would suddenly stop, as if deliberately exposing himself to the arrow's range.
Just as the arrow left the bowstring and pierced the air, Terra used blocks to build a small wall to block it. Then, taking advantage of the gap when the goblin was drawing his bow, he used the speed boost provided by the Hermes Boots to rush forward and slash fiercely with his iron sword.
Andrea 2, on the other hand, helped suppress the goblin warriors who could only swing their swords at close range.
Mana joined the fray: "I've been holding back for so long, finally I get my chance to shine!"
"Fireball!"
"Fireball!"
"Fire... I'm... I'm sorry, I hope I didn't tire you out, ah, I'm so, so sorry."
"Tsk, fireball!"
"Ah, I wasn't clicking my tongue at you just now, I was clicking my tongue at those goblins, yes, yes."
Mana was casting spells frequently from behind while bowing 90 degrees to the tiny spirits in the air to apologize.
Terra got quite a few rags this time.
On the other side, facing the charge of the lizardmen and dwarves, the goblin remained completely calm, instead spreading his arms wide: "How could a few worthless fry possibly harm me? I am... gulp—ah—!"
Boom!
Before the goblin could finish speaking, he was tackled by Ragon with a powerful shoulder kick, his mouth twisted as he flew backwards against the stone wall behind him, the pages of the book in his hand scattering all around.
"No, how dare you talk big when you're so weak?" Balin was puzzled.
The goblin struggled to his feet and shouted into the darkness, "Oi! We made a deal! You promised Lord Erwin you'd protect me!"
Balin stared intently at the goblin, while Ragon turned to look in the direction the goblin had called out, but there was nothing there. No one responded to the goblin's words.
"What the hell? He actually ran away! Bastard!" The goblin pounded the ground, then saw the lizardman's claws.
The goblin slowly raised its head as if mechanically stuck: "Can we make peace~"
……
On Terra's side, the battle was almost over, and Mana quickly ran over to help untie them.
A mage, slightly younger than Mana, hugged her tightly: "These goblins, these goblins actually...!"
"What?!"
"They actually forced us to read goblin history books, those obscene picture books, and made us write reports on them, give us quizzes, and scold us if we didn't do well, even hitting us with sticks! We couldn't even understand their language, and they kept emphasizing that goblins are also human, not the lowly monsters we talk about, and that the union of humans and goblins is only natural. Is this something a human would do?"
Goblins don't seem to be human either.
Mana patted her head: "Is there anyone else here?"
The young female monk shook her head.
Just then, Terra rushed over and opened the dialogue boxes of each of the rescued adventurers. Then she looked them up and down, feeling that none of them were as good-looking as her guide.
They're all useless NPCs.
Several adventurers had been driven insane by the torment of the past few days. Whenever they saw Terra, this strange fellow, coming over and controlling them with some inexplicable power, they would all shout that he was a monster.
Among them, a female adventurer wearing chainmail and with shoulder-length black hair came forward to apologize to Terra on behalf of everyone: "My name is Nora. They meant you no harm; they were just stressed after being provoked. Looking at your body... do you have Oripathy? To be an adventurer with such a disease is both a miracle and an example. I salute you."
Nora gave a standard knightly salute: "My husband is a soldier stationed in the nearby city of Mi. Although he doesn't hold a very high position, he is at least a squad leader. If there is anything related to this in the future, please feel free to ask. As an adventurer, I can also share some information that I obtain later with you if you wish."
Then, Nora saw Andrea 2 behind Terra.
She frowned, drew her sword, and pointed it at Andrea 2: "There was already an elf scamming people in the guild before, and now another one has appeared. What exactly are you guys trying to do?"
"How dare he slander my mentor's mother?" Terra thought to herself.
Andrea 2 gleaned important information from her tense words.
Seeing this, Mana quickly stepped forward to explain, "Don't do anything, this elf is a good person."
Although he has the peculiar habit of calling other people "Mom".
"Are you sure this elf isn't lying to you?" Nora's sword-wielding hand remained motionless as she suspiciously looked the other person up and down.
Mana was about to say something when Andrea 2 pulled her back: "If my kinsman has done anything bad to you, I apologize on her behalf."
"I don't know if the elf you encountered was blonde and dressed in all black? That guy was originally part of my team on a mission. I can't say what the mission entailed, but anyway, I was betrayed by her and I'm looking for her now."
Andrea 2 still didn't dare to tell the truth about being kidnapped by goblins.
Nora lowered her sword, nodded, and softened her tone: "That elf claimed to have a very mysterious mission to undertake, but I don't know the specifics. She wasn't an adventurer either. When she came to our guild, she posted a request to help her investigate a ruin."
"At first we had some doubts, but she was extremely generous... the reward was really considerable, so we accepted it, and that's how we ended up here."
"As you saw when you came, the gate to this site was blocked. We couldn't find a tunnel, so we had to dig it ourselves. We dug for several days and finally got in."
"A large group of goblins were waiting, and then we were tied up. A goblin called Erwin gave the elf something, and then the elf went to the inner room."
Nora pointed to the tightly closed door in the distance of the cave. Terra was already standing before that door.
Andrea 2 followed.
Terra couldn't break through the door or the wall with his pickaxe, just like in the corridor ahead.
But the door is only one block thick, so he plans to put a platform directly on the door, knock down half a brick to make a one-way wall to wed it in.
Andrea 2 reached Terra's side and observed the stone door, recognizing it as being in the style of the mid-Imperial period. Just then, the stone door began to shift from solid to ethereal, gradually becoming transparent.
An exclamation mark appeared above Terra's head; there are so many interesting things in the new version.
"This door... was it opened because of me?" Andrea 2 exclaimed.
The two walked in, and the door behind them slowly solidified from a blurry shape.
Behind the door lies a vast underground space, completely different from the external cavern. Heavy curtains hang from the towering ceiling, creating a solemn and mysterious atmosphere.
A pattern is carved on the wall facing the entrance, depicting several human figures surrounding a glowing square object.
In the center of the room stood an extremely large statue of an elf angel.
Andrea 2 felt that this elf looked familiar. She remembered that it was a high elf who had summoned a hero.
The protagonist thinks the new version of the statue's textures and model are well-designed, and that it's large and imposing.
Is this statue purely decorative, like the old version of the angel statue?
Or is it that once the wires are connected, the creature depicted in this statue will appear?
Anyway, it's an interesting new item, and Terra plans to dig it up.
However, as Terra approached, she heard the statue emit a deep and ethereal voice, and the surrounding environment suddenly changed.
The enclosed space faded away, replaced by a black sky filled with stars. The background music from the underground environment also switched to that of the ethereal environment.
Isn't this the effect of the old version's decorative furniture, the Etheric Tower?
Andrea 2 also saw and heard this fantastical scene and music. As far as the eye could see, many tiny, shimmering fairies floated in the air.
Immediately afterwards, Terra heard the statue speak:
"O higher beings, these words are only spoken to you."
"The order of our kingdom has collapsed, and we offer our blood and sweat in prayer for the stirrings of a new life from a foreign land."
"You are our guide on the road, our beacon, and here we offer you the scepter of progress."
As soon as she finished speaking, a notification appeared in the lower right corner of Terra's vision: The second gift has been presented.
Then a progress bar appeared in front of Terra, displaying "[Loading: Magic Storage mod]"
